Telling a Story with Fabric and Thread

In this class students will work with fabric, thread, and other found materials such as buttons, beads or ephemera, to create individualistic 2-d , 3-d or wearable pieces of art. The teacher will use various methods of sewing, embroidery, appliqué and design to aid students in creating expressive imagery formed by hand with fabric. In addition, students will learn fun techniques with the sewing machine including free-motion embroidery and reverse appliqué.
