Torn Paper Collage
Using recycled magazines, you will make collage art that looks almost like paintings. You will learn basic concepts like composition, color, light, and shape in a playful, low-stress way. With each torn piece of paper that you apply to your work, you will see an image emerge and be amazed by how quickly you see results. Torn Paper Collage is a great way to release stress and find joy! About the Instructor
Ruth Barth began her art career at the Fashion Institute of Technology where she studied fashion illustration. After raising two children, she returned to art and started to teach a variety of classes to encourage adult students to let go of their fear and find the joy in making art. She called her classes “No Fear Art". Ruth enjoys making art that is colorful and bold and loves encouraging her students to take risks and have fun. In addition to Seattle ReCreative, she teaches “No Fear Portraits”, “No Fear Drawing”, “No Fear Watercolors”, and “No Fear Torn Paper Painting” in the Edmonds Senior Center and the Frances Anderson Center.
