Weekend Dabbler Workshops
We know that life is busy and that your time is limited. We also know that a small dose of creativity can go a long way. That's why we created the Weekend Dabbler Workshops! Each month, we will feature a workshop that will let you dip your toe in without a big commitment. And who knows? You might discover a new hobby! Future workshops may include paper making, embroidery, jewelry making, and more! Offerings will be updated seasonally.
Weekend Dabbler Workshops are held once a month.
Ages: Adults and teens 15+ (no prior experience required)

Register for two $25 workshops and receive a $5 discount. Register for three or more workshops and receive a $10 discount. Registration for multiple workshops must happen at the same time in order to receive the discount. No discounts will be given retroactively. Discount does not apply to workshops over $25.

Abstract Painting & Drawing
Date: Saturday, August 12, 1:00-4:00pm
Instructor: Emily Ellingsworth
Are you drawn to paint but don't know where to start? Do you love colors and texture? Are you an artist stuck in a rut? Abstract painting is a fun way to get into art making (or just mix it up) without the pressure of try to make it “look right”. In this dabbler get an intro to color theory and mixing as well a lesson in paint quality and how to get the most bang for your buck when buying materials. Experiment with several techniques and take home at least one one-of-a-kind painting. Have fun, get loose, and play!
Junk Journal Workshop
Date: Saturday, September 9, 2:00 to 4:00pm
Learn how to turn paper, envelopes, postcards and more into lovely journals. Make your own handmade book using recycled materials such as magazines, maps, paper bags, greeting cards, and more. This mixed media approach to journaling is a great way to record thoughts, collect memorabilia, or keep a record of meaningful events in your life. It's fun and creative with limitless possibilities for creativity!
Dia de los Muertos Workshop

Explore the beautiful folk art of Mexico through shrine making, printmaking and sugar skull decoration.
Intro to Upcycled Jewelry
Date: Saturday, November 11, 2:00 to 4:00pm
Learn the basics of jewelry construction from professional jewelry artist, Laura Hofsteen, using found objects, natural items, and vintage components. Bring your own jewelry to deconstruct, or find salvaged items at Seattle ReCreative. Instructor will provide recycled guitar string, salvaged copper wire, beach stones, and sea glass. Tools will be available.
